Time to say Goodnight by Martin Fasting
Time to say Goodnight
We scrupulously observe daily menial rituals
They seem to confer a dimension to our life
We break down our days and nights
Into essentially forgettable moments
Probably hoping to escape our fate
As they say that we scroll through our memories
Before we pass away
So good night to you all
And build this life-saver
In a bright bouquet of souvenirs
A crocodile will take you down the river
The ferryman is away for the bank holiday
But for a penny you will get many extra tears
